Meters

Meters or Measuring instruments or Measuring Devices – We may call it any name! Meter is anything that can measure or detect a parameter. Meters or measuring devices are simple units which help in analyzing a value for a parameter. Be it climate control or structure diagnostics, meters are available to identify any desired value. For example, leakages in building which may be hidden, concealed metal applications, or even high level of RH (relative humidity) can be detected by meters and measuring units. Climate control data also have many instruments under the meter category.

Majorly Meters technology fall under detection for the detection of leak study or monitoring, inspection and also detection of weather and climatic conditions such as the humidity, temperature, etc.

Now talking about Meters, lets understand it through few examples which we used as very common devices. We have heard of Distance Meters. This is one of the most basic meters which are used to detect and analyze the distance of a particular area. This can be used in applications like construction or architectural industries. Now if we look at the Anemometer, these are air flow detection meters. This meter allows you to get information about the air flow in a room. Lux Meters, these are used to detect the light in a room or space. Sound level meters are mainly used to get the decibels (dB) of noise or any kind of sound generated. Infrared Thermometers are measuring units which are used to measure and detect the temperature of a location without getting in contact with the location. This is done via infrared rays which help in detecting the temperature of a surface area of a particular size.

There is a huge list of meters and measuring instruments which are used in various and different kinds of applications like warehouses, industries, factories, engineering works, construction industries, food based companies, pharmaceutical companies, etc.

List of few of the meters are;

  1. Distance Meter
  2. Cross Line Meter
  3. Layer Thickness Meter
  4. Anemometer
  5. Climate Meter
  6. Pressure Meter
  7. Electricity Meter
  8. Co (Carbon Monoxide) meter
  9. Sound Level Meter
  10. Microwave Radiation meter
  11. Lux Meters
  12. Particle Counter: These are mainly used to detect the dust particles in the air
  13. Probe Meters, mainly used for food industries
  14. Gas measuring meters
  15. Humidity meters
  16. Magnetometers
  17. Videoscope’s and Thermal Imaging Cameras
  18. Ultrasound Measuring Instruments
  19. Leak Detection Meters:
    1. Combination measuring leak detection device
    2. Ultrasound measuring instruments
    3. Sound Locators
    4. Correlators
    5. Noise and pressure data loggers
    6. Impulse Current Measuring System
    7. Hydrogen Leak Detectors

These are few types which fall under the range of Leak Detection Meters. Meters or measuring devices are used and made to function in many applications in a day to day life. For instance, industries such as the automotive manufacturing, electronic manufacturing, in medical device companies, Pharmaceutical manufacturing, Tobacco Manufacturing, we need these units for various reasons.

Meters are also essential for Food industries as mentioned earlier. Cold Storages also require meters and various kinds of measuring instruments. In fact, as the most common example, we use a thermometer at home. This also is under the meter category of devices. These meters are for human health and care.

Meters as a product are very small and handy. These are mostly hand held type devices and are mobile. They do not consume much of space and can be easily carried around during work hours effortlessly.
